Granblue Fantasy: Relink is brand new and has had a few issues on all its releases. One of these is a black screen that won't go away. The developers are aware of it and are working on it, but you'll need a fix in the meantime.
What causes the black screen of death in Granblue Fantasy: Relink?
The black screen lock is a bug exclusive to Steam, and it appears to happen if you click any button while the game is booting up. However, it also occurs sometimes even if you don't click around at all. While the developers haven't figured out the source of this one just yet, it looks like many have been avoiding it by not trying to click through the opening credits.
How to fix the black screen of death in Relink
According to Steam user Valkyn Shade, opening a different game, then opening Granblue Fantasy: Relink, helps with this issue. They claim that opening any other game on Steam, then opening Granblue, letting it load into the game, and then closing the other game, the black screen does not occur.
Another user, Catherina, said that having Process Lasso Free running in the background also helped them fix the black screen issue. So perhaps just having another program running is all you need to fix it. Also, if you are experiencing difficulties with the Chapter 3 bug, Catherina suggests you "set e-cores in your bios to 0" to fix it.
I also found several other claims that disabling the Steam overlay in the properties menu makes the game boot without the black screen. However, since I didn't experience this issue myself, I haven't been able to test either of these. Hopefully, one of these works for you,
