How does the Nemesis system work in GRID Legends?

You don't want any trouble with the A.I.

There are various multiplayer and solo game modes featured in GRID Legends. In single-player modes such as Career events and the Story campaign, you race against bots or A.I. drivers. To add to the game's realism aspect, the developers have reintroduced the Nemesis mechanic.

Taken from the last game in the franchise, the Nemesis system turns A.I. players against you if you intentionally, or unintentionally, cause them harm. Cars in GRID Legends can get too close or clustered at times, but you should always try not to damage your and opponents' vehicles.

Ramming A.I. cars or interfering with their momentum may cause them to get in your way and return the favor back. Even your teammate can become your Nemesis if you cause them much trouble. Nemesis vehicles in GRID Legends are marked with a red helmet icon, as shown in the image above.

While the Nemesis system isn't very powerful on easy difficulty, it can get very troublesome at higher difficulty levels. It may also result in you losing the race. However, you can train your teammate to counter your Nemesis. You can do this by increasing the Nemesis Protection in the Team Development skill tree.
