Incantations are the primary source of damage for any players using a Faith build. Similar to spells, they take a second to cast, and can be interrupted by damage. You can use incantations for several purposes, such as enchanting your weapons and healing. Here's how you can use incantations in Elden Ring.
How do you use incantations in Elden Ring?
To use incantations, you must first possess a seal. A seal is a channel through which you can cast incantations, similar to how a staff channels magic. You can purchase the Finger Seal from the Twin Maiden Husks in the Roundtable Hold. Equip the seal as you would a typical weapon, and then sit at a Site of Grace. Here, you can learn any incantations you have found and equip them in your memory slots.
You can cast any incantations you've memorized. To attack, press left-click on PC, R1 on PlayStation, or RB on Xbox. Incantations cost FP, which can be replenished by a Flask of Cerulean Tears or a Flask of Wondrous Physick.

How do you make your incantations more powerful in Elden Ring?
To increase the power of your incantations, you can level up your Faith. Most seals scale on Faith and one other stat, so the higher your Faith stat is, the more damage you inflict. Under the Attribute Scaling section of your seal, you can check how well the weapon scales. For this Clawmark seal pictured above, the weapon scales on both Strength and Faith. Both of these stats have a D-grade, which is not ideal.
To upgrade these seals, you can go to Smithing Master Hewg in the Roundtable Hold. He can improve your weapon's scaling at the cost of Smithing Stones and runes. This will increase the damage of your incantations, improving your seal's scaling efficiency from a D-rank to a C-rank, and so on. Throughout the game, you will discover new and more powerful incantations, which you can memorize at any Site of Grace.
