When fighting this beast, it's good to know what it's weak against or where to inflict that good old damage to slaughter the foe quickly. So here's Arzuros's weaknesses, resistances, and drop rates.

All Arzuros Weaknesses

Arzuros Elemental Weakness

The main weakness of this furry fiend is fire, but if you have thunder or ice will still be more effective than using no element at all. Oddly, enough even though thunder isn't the main element you should use, it can inflict the same damage as fire when hitting its Forelegs. Don't use dragon on the Arzuros, as these attacks are ineffective. Here are the locations where you should attack Arzuros for extra elemental damage.

You should focus if using an elemental weapon on the Arzuros' Upper Half and Forelegs, as hitting here will yield the most effective damage output. Targeting the Head, Hind Legs, and Rear are excellent targets as well, depending on which element you're using, though damage output will vary.

Arzuros Location Weakness

If you are not wielding an elemental weapon, you want to attack places where you deal extra damage. These places on a monster differentiate depending on the weapon type you use—Cutting, Impact, or Shot.

Damage LocationCutting DamageImpact DamageShot Damage
Head555555
Upper Half505062
Forelegs333528
Hind Legs555538
Rear666643
  • If using a cutting weapon focus on the rear and legs.
  • If using a blunt weapon focus on the head and the rear.
  • If using a bow weapon focus on shooting the upper half.

Arzuros Resistances and Ailments

If you're aiming to down Arzuros with ailments, Poison, Paralysis, Sleep, and Exhaust are all highly effective options here. While not as effective as the ailments mentioned earlier, Blast, Stun, and Fireblight still threaten the Arzuros. Make sure not to use Thunderblight, Waterblight, or Iceblight on this foe, as these ailments are ineffective.

Arzuros Drop Rates - Carves, Capturing & Breaking

Depending on your quest, you can get different rewards to forge armor and weapons, but each has a drop rate percentage, ultimately RNG. It is pure luck what you receive.

  • There are multiple ways of gaining items
    • You can carving three times once the monster is dead.
    • You can capture the monster instead of killing it.
      • Or carving the broken appendage of said monster.
    • From looting the drops from the monster
    • After successfully compleing your quest

Most monsters in Monster Hunter Rise have breakable parts that hunters can chip off with enough damage, and the Arzuros is no different. You'll want to aim for this part of the Arzuros—Forelegs—as players can knock parts off of each of these appendages. Hunters that successfully break pieces off a monster net extra rewards once the hunt ends.

The tables below are each material's percentage and drop rates from Arzuros, Low and High rank.
