Magnamalo Elemental Weakness

Magnamalo's main weakness is water, so make sure to bring any weapons with this element if you have them. Should you be bereft of any gear with this affinity, bring along some gear that does thunder damage instead, as these are a close second in terms of damage output. Ice, while much weaker than water and thunder, is still impactful in battle and better than shirking an element entirely. Do not use fire or dragon weapons when fighting Magnamalo because it's immune to these elements.

If you have water and thunder weapons, aim your attacks at Magnamalo's Torso, Foreleg, and Hind Leg, as hitting the beast here will yield the most damage. Those using ice weapons will have to focus on the Torso exclusively for optimal damage.

Magnamalo's is resistant to most ailments. The only ailment that deals significant damage to this beast is Waterblight, so make sure to use short weapons like the Dual Blades if you're banking on dealing some damage to Mangamalo with this ailment. Do not use Blast on Magnamalo, as it is immune.

Magnamalo Drop Rates - Carves, Capturing & Breaking

Depending on your quest, you can get different rewards to forge armor and weapons, but each has a drop rate percentage, ultimately RNG. It is pure luck what you receive.

  • There are multiple ways of gaining items
    • You can carving three times once the monster is dead.
    • You can capture the monster instead of killing it.
      • Or carving the broken appendage of said monster.
    • From looting the drops from the monster
    • After successfully compleing your quest

Most monsters have breakable parts, and Magnamalo is no different. Focus on the Head, Arm Blade, and Back, as these are vulnerable to breaks. If you break pieces on the Magnamalo during the hunt, you will earn extra rewards after completing the quest.
