How do Buddy tier levels work in Hearthstone Battlegrounds?

Buddies are like friends, they have tier levels.

Buddy system has been introduced to Hearthstone Battlegrounds, which may seem simple at first glance, but becomes quite complicated. This is a strategy game, so players must know exactly what will fill their meter and by how much. To get a basic overview of the Buddy system, see our guide on the Buddy system.

Your Buddy Tavern Tier level determines how long it takes to fill up your Buddy meter. As each Buddy Tavern Tier level increases, bringing out a Buddy will take more time. So far, we have noticed that if players are not actively gathering points, it takes this long to fill up the meter:

  • Tavern Tier 2: turn 5-6
  • Tavern Tier 3: turn 6-7
  • Tavern Tier 4: turn 7-8
  • Tavern Tier 5: turn 8-9

The most important part of filling up the meter is winning rounds and dealing lots of damage. It doesn't appear to matter how many minions you have.

Keep in mind that if you continue to lose every round, this will not be your experience. This is based on players tieing or winning each turn and doing damage. Those who continuously bring out minions just to watch them get taken out will have to wait much longer.
