After unlocking the Vivarium in Hogwarts Legacy, you can use the Nab-Sack to capture Beasts in the open world to bring them back to your Room of Requirement and get magical materials from them. There are several Beasts to capture, and you may notice that some Beasts have a star/+ symbol, indicating a shiny Beast. Here is how to catch Shiny Beasts in Hogwarts Legacy.
How to find Shiny Beasts in Hogwarts Legacy
Firstly, you will need to unlock the Vivarium and Nab-Sack. These both unlock during Autumn by completing The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and the Loom main story quest. This quest will trigger early in the Autumn season after completing The Helm of Urtkot.
Once you have the Nab-Sack, you can head to any Monster Den in the open world in search of a Shiny Beast. Shiny Beast's spawns are random and down to luck. We recommend regularly checking Monster Dens for a Shiny Beast. A Shiny Beast will have the star/+ symbol next to their gender. You can use the Disillusionment Spell to get close to Beasts without scaring them away when searching for a Shiny Beast.

How to catch Shiny Beasts in Hogwarts Legacy
Catching shiny beasts is the same as catching a regular beast, except they are often harder to catch. The Disillusionment spell will allow you to get close to the beast. Once there, cast Levioso to trap the beast in the air. Cast your Nab-Sack spell to start capturing the beast. When prompted, press the interact button.
Shiny beasts will often require multiple timed presses to capture. If you mistime the button press, the beast will escape from Levioso. However, the capture will continue as long as the beast doesn't get too far away.
