Prepare for you life at Hogwarts.

Hogwarts Legacy is the long-anticipated open-world RPG set within the world of Harry Potter. Wizarding World fans can explore Hogwarts and craft their own witches and wizards when the game releases. However, console players can preload the game ahead of time, and now PC players can do the same on Steam. This may leave you wondering how to preload Hogwarts Legacy on Steam.

With the preload option for Hogwarts Legacy, you can download the game early and be ready to go on release day. The preload begins ahead of the early access period on February 7, 2023, and the full release on February 10, 2023. The preload can be initiated on Steam from the Hogwarts Legacy store page. If the button to begin the preload isn't there, simply close and reopen Steam.

Once the preload begins, it may take some time for it to finish, as Hogwarts Legacy has a large file size. However, it is highly recommended to preload this title as you can instantly jump into the game through the early access or full release and not wait for the lengthy download. Use that time to decide whether you want to join Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff.
