You can improve your broom's stats in Hogwarts Legacy by completing special racing event quests. However, receiving the game's final flying upgrade can take a bit longer than usual. Here is why you haven't unlocked Broom Upgrade 3 yet in Hogwarts Legacy.
How to get Broom Upgrade 3 in Hogwarts Legacy
In Hogwarts Legacy, you unlock the Broom Upgrade 3 by completing the South Coast Broom Flight Trial. After finishing the quest, the game has you return to the Spintwitches Sporting Needs shop in Hogsmeade. However, after speaking to Albie Weekes, some players have reported not receiving an OWL message to purchase their final upgrade. This is because Broom Upgrade 3 has a couple of factors that determine when the quest update will trigger. If you are only completing side quests, you will be waiting a while before you are able to actually unlock it.
To purchase Broom Upgrade 3 in Hogwarts Legacy, you must specifically progress the main story. In your menu, look for the quests with the yellow symbols next to them. After completing several of these story missions and moving the campaign's plot forward, you will eventually get an OWL update from Albie Weekes. Now that you've received your message, you will finally be able to travel back to Hogsmeade and purchase the final broom upgrade, which will increase your speed and improve your handling. The Broom Upgrade 3 costs 7,500 Galleons, so use the time while waiting to save up.
If you are not able to get Broom Upgrade 3, it just means you haven't progressed far enough in the story. Keep plugging away at yellow-marked quests, and Albie Weekes will eventually contact you. Even though you get the Hogwarts Legacy broom feature early in the story, the game requires a large percentage of the main campaign to be completed before the broom's final upgrade becomes purchasable.
