Last Epoch Leveling Primalist Passive Skills

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

As soon as you start leveling up in Last Epoch, your first 20-25 Passive Skill points should go into these Passives, in no particular order:

Primal Strength (8/8)

Investing eight points into Primal Strength boosts your Strength and Health Regeneration stats, while also unlocking Eterra's Blessing along the way. You'll need all the firepower you can muster, especially when encountering Osprix Warriors.

Harmony of Blades

After investing the first five points into one of the Passives, you'll unlock Harmony of Blades which allows you to dual-wield a melee weapon with a sword or an axe. You'll take nine points more in damage, but the tradeoff is worth the investment.

Gift of the Wilderness (6/6)

You and your minion will be in dire need of more health early on, and the Gift of the WIlderness Passive will give you a health boost with every point spent. Alternate between investing in Primal Strength and Gift of the Wilderness early on, and you'll have a good balance of high damage and decent health points.

Survival of the Pack (6/6)

Unlocked after investing the first 10 points, Survival of the Pack amplifies melee damage and health leech for you and your minion. Since the Primalist thrives in melee clashes, this Passive will help you immensely.

Hunter's Restoration

Last but not least, Hunter's Restoration gives you more health and the ability to restore health when attacking enemies. Every 3 seconds your attack will absorb the enemy's health and redirect it to you HP stock.

How to Level Primalist Skills and Specializations

Skill specializations are crucial to leveling your Primalist, and the skills you unlock up to level 14 should be your main focus. The Summon Wolf skill is the most helpful skill to use early on, giving you a Primal Wolf minion to provide attack support. Invest your specialization points into On the Hunt and Howl of Might to give your Primal Wolf more damage, attack speed, and a dodge rating boost.

The second skill you'll unlock is the Fury Leap, a powerful attack blow dealing damage to all nearby enemies. To use its full potential, invest your specialization points into Crater and Panther Strike to increase the damage area and damage while lowering the cost of mana and cooldown speed.

If you have points to spare, invest in Fury Leap's Ambush Predator and Summon Wolf's Savage Hunters to further increase the damage output.

How to play Primalist in Last Epoch

Primalists are melee fighters who dabble in element-based magic to support their attacks. When playing as a Primalist, your auto-healing abilities will come in handy in between fights, and using Thorn Totems helps with dealing extra damage while also distracting the enemy. If you prefer staying away from the line of fire, invest in Summon Thorn Totem specializations for a passive damage build.

When facing tougher enemies, use skills such as the Fury Leap, Tempest Strike, and Gathering Storm to deal with attacks at a low cost of mana. The Primalist's self-healing ability can't catch up with powerful attacks, so keep an eye on your HP bar and stock up on Health Potions to use when needed.

Best Items for Primalist leveling in Last Epoch

Since the Primalist is among the slower classes, look for armor, helmets, gloves, and sashes that boost movement speed, dodge rating, and resistance to minimize damage. Items with the suffixes Turtle, Evasion, Defense, Fox, Health, and Deflection increase health, armor, and your chances of dodging attacks.

Best Primalist Mastery in Last Epoch

Although Last Epoch's Masteries are well-balanced, the Shaman Gathering Storm Mastery edges out above the rest thanks to its high-damage skills that complement the devastating melee attacks. The Tornado tears through hordes of enemies at random, and investing in its specialization tree increases its duration, damage, and pull strength.

The Earthquake and the Avalanche deal 450-580 damage in large areas, while the Storm Totem blasts bolts of lightning at enemies in its vicinity, helping you gain XP and clear areas faster.
