Extension ladder on the Titan moon in Lethal Company

The Extension Ladder is broken in Lethal Company v55 beta, and fans are hoping it’s just a bug

How am I going to live without the bonk?

Lethal Company version 55 is on the beta branch of Steam, giving players a chance to check out all the new content that came with the update including some new monsters. However, the beta version is also showcasing another monster — an Extension ladder bug that the players aren't too happy about.

The Extension ladder is an extremely useful tool that you can purchase at the Company store on the ship for 60 credits. It's not too expensive, and you can get it after you sell loot to the company for the first time.

You can use the ladder to climb up places, but its main use is actually crossing holes in the facilities. All you have to do is activate it and align it with the pole on the other side to get across easily. This is perfect for people who always die while jumping across such holes (that would be me).

Players don't usually go to Titan without Extension ladders. This item helps you drop all loot all the way to the ground without having to climb up and down multiple times on a dangerous moon (something that is made worse by the players' stamina).

Another thing that the ladder was convenient for was killing enemies or even your teammates with the best bonk sound effect. Some people even engaged in a fun game of activating multiple ladders at the same time and seeing who would be the last one standing.

Overall, the Extension ladder was both a useful tool and a tool of chaos. However, it seems to be broken in version 55. The video by Reddit user timoshi17 shows that you can't walk on the ladder anymore. Instead, you can only climb up it. I have personally confirmed this in my own game as well.

This now means that the only way you can use the extension ladder is the 'correct' way, by placing it against something and climbing up. This really sucks the fun out of the item. It was great 'broken' when players could figure out new ways to use it to improve the game. And the fact that there is no more bonk effect is even more heartbreaking.

One thing that brings us all hope is the fact that Zeekerss (developer of Lethal Company) hasn't mentioned this change anywhere, leading us to believe that it is a bug. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is since I know I will be at the bottom of every hole without it.
