Like all Yakuza games, Like a Dragon Gaiden focuses heavily on the story, unraveling the intricate chaos of the yakuza clans and Kiryu's complicated entanglement with them. You'll complete the game in sequential chapters, so here's a look at what to expect.

Like a Dragon Gaiden Chapters List

Like a Dragon Gaiden has five total chapters, which is much fewer than other Yakuza games of the series. However, completing all the chapters doesn't necessarily mean the game is completely over since there are other substories and tasks to complete on the side.

Here is a look at all the chapters below.

  • Chapter 1: Hidden Dragon
  • Chapter 2: Castle on the Water
  • Chapter 3: The Man Who Knew Too Much
  • Chapter 4: The Laughing Man
  • Chapter 5: The Man Who Erased His Name

How long does it take to beat Like a Dragon Gaiden?

With much fewer chapters to work through in this game, you can expect it to be much quicker to complete the whole thing. However, adding the extra quests and battles you can take on the side of the main storyline will add some hours, especially if you value taking your time and picking out all the little details. You can finish the game within 10-12 hours with just the main storyline and required tasks.

Adding on the extra stuff will bring in approximately an additional 2-4 hours, totaling around 15-16 hours. Of course, it entirely depends on how long you take to complete battles and tasks and if you succeed on your first time through.

Despite being a bit of a shorter game in the series, you can still expect the same thrilling gameplay and intriguing storyline that you got from all past games. Plus, it's okay to take your time and enjoy playing as Kiryu again as he takes on a brand new challenge.
