How to beat expert Shaco – Tournament of Souls

Learn to defeat Shaco in both settings!

Tournament of Souls is the newest event to debut inside the League of Legends base game. Apart from the fancy cosmetics skins, the main highlight feature of the event is the 1v1 arcade-style fighting game mode, where you take on other Soul Fighters for special rewards. While most of the fighters in the tournament are pretty easy to defeat, many players, including myself, found Shaco a bit tough to handle due to his tricky movements and weird combos.

How to defeat Shaco in Tournament of Souls (League of Legends)

To defeat Shaco in Soul Fighter, you must equip the Twilight Rush ability and combo it with other skills at the right time. But apart from Twilight Rush ability, be sure to equip the following skills for your character to increase your chance of defeating Shaco:

  • Q Ability:  Quickshot
  • W Ability: Back Atcha
  • E Ability:  Twilight Rush
  • R Ability:  Immortal Inferno

Once you have equipped the above skills to your character, execute the given combo from the start of the round - E -> Q -> W -> Q. Repeat this combo (EQWQ) to fill up your ultimate and use it when possible. While performing this combo, if Shaco manages to attack you, use the W button to wade off his attacks. Also, counter his ultimate ability by using W, followed by Q, to reverse the damage. Rinse and repeat the process till Shaco faces his defeat.

How to beat Shaco on Expert in Tournament of Souls

It's a different ball game if you are trying to defeat Shaco in the Expert mode. To begin, equip all the given abilities for your character.

  • Q Ability:  Quickshot
  • W Ability: Back Atcha
  • E Ability:  Twilight Rush
  • R Ability: Chaotic Daybreak

After choosing the above abilities, the next step is to learn a strategy to counter his moves. Once the match starts, do nothing till he spawns one of his clones. Use the E ability to drop a grenade on the clones and Q to detonate it. You may be stunned by his small bots. Don't Worry! Use the Q ability at the first chance you get out of his stun ability. After that, he will disappear for a while.

The moment he comes back, use your W to counter his immediate attack. Follow the same instructions for his second clone as well. Also, by this time, your ultimate ability will be available. Use it right after countering his second invisible attack. Repeat this process of E-> Q and blocking with the W after reappearing to bring down Shaco on Expert mode in Tournament of Souls.
