How to get Vestige Seeds in Lords of the Fallen

Plant the seed

Lords of the Fallen plays very similarly to the Dark Souls series. You can't take more than a few steps without seeing something derivative of it. One place where Lords of the Fallen differs, however, is how the game handles bonfires. While they exist, there are very few scattered about compared to Dark Souls. Instead, you're expected to utilize Vestige Seeds to make your own. The catch is that they are limited, and getting more is either time-consuming or expensive. Nevertheless, you need them—so here's how to get more Vestige Seeds in Lords of the Fallen.

Where to get Vestige Seeds in Lords of the Fallen

Vestige Seedls can be obtained in a few different ways throughout the game. The easiest way is to purchase them from Morliu for 2,500 Vigor. Morlhu can be found at Skyrest Bridge in the Umbra room west of the Vestige of Ethryg, just up the stairs. Make sure you're in Umbral other you won't be able to talk to him.

If you're not interested in spending precious Vigor to buy Vestige Seeds, then you do have the option of farming the demonic inhabits of Umbral and praying for a drop. The stronger the monstrosity, the more likely you are to get Vestige Seeds as loot. Bosses always drop a Vestige Seed, but they can only be killed once and thus not farmable. Still, you can save the seeds you get from them.

How to use Vestige Seeds in Lords of the Fallen

The prospect of being able to place a rest point anywhere is enticing, and while Lords of the Fallen takes us a step toward that direction, there are still limitations on where you can place a Vestige Seedling. That limitation is on flower beds found throughout the world.

In order to use a Vestige Seed, they must be placed on a flower bed to make a Vestiage Seedling, a rest point. These are easy to miss, but fortunately, your Umbral Lamp lights up when you're close or are on top of one. Doing so will create the rest point, which functions exactly like a Vestige does. However, you are only allowed to have one Vestige Seedling active at one time. If you place a new one elsewhere, your old one will be removed from the world, and you won't be able to return to it.

When should you use Vestige Seeds in Lords of the Fallen?

There are many flower beds throughout the world of Lords of the Fallen, and each one will allow you to use a Vestige Seed to create a rest point. However, Vestige Seeds are not easy to come by, so it may not always be necessary to use one just because you see a flower bed. Whether or not you place one should be determined by your current supplies.

If you're low on health items, then there is a strategic reason to place a rest point using a Vestige Seed since you can recharge your supplies there. If you're nearing the end of your current Umbral cycle and you find a flower bed nearby, then placing one makes plenty of sense. You should avoid using your Vestige Seeds unless you have no choice but to or there is no known Vestige nearby.

Where to farm Vigor for Vestige Seeds in Lords of the Fallen?

If you're going the purchase route, then I recommend farming the spikehead enemy just off to the left of the Pilgrim's Perch Bellroom.

This mob gives around 500 Vigor per kill and can be killed easily with some moderate gear. The best part is that the Vestige is so close, so resets are quick to do once the mob is dead. Additionally, spikeheads drop their helmet fairly often, which also sells for a quick 250 Vigor at any vendor. Be sure to dispel his Umbral shield before attempting to attack him.
