Tripod Studio’s Lost Ark VR April Fools trailer makes us wish it was true

If only this was real.

Lost Ark is developed in the west by Smilegate RPG, but it was developed by Tripod Studio in Korea first. The developers at Tripod Studio decided to tease fans with a wish-come-true just in time for April Fools. The new trailer showcases Lost Ark and all its glory in virtual reality.

This trailer was published on the Korean Lost Ark Youtube channel and shows off the opening of the action-adventure MMORPG in beautiful VR. Players will recognize many familiar scenes and characters from the game—but in an unfamiliar, first-person perspective.

This trailer is clearly an April Fools joke, but what if it wasn't? A lot of effort went into this joke, and it will certainly leave fans wishing it were real—we certainly wish it was. It would be tricky to convert Lost Ark's many systems and gameplay into VR, but this trailer makes it look appealing.

While you may want to hold onto the hope that this is real and not an April Fools joke, the timing is too good to be true. The year prior, Tripod Studio created a fake trailer for a Lost Ark fighting game for April Fools, so the developers are clearly dedicated to trolling their fanbase.
