Certain structures like Sawpits are important to build first, and understanding how they work is just as important. If you're having issues, here's our handy guide for how to fix Sawpits not working in Manor Lords.
How to fix the Sawpit in Manor Lords
If you've built a Sawpit in Manor Lords and find that nothing is happening with it, first of all, make sure that you have families/workers assigned to it. This ensures that the citizens of your growing dominion stay active and on task. You can click on a completed Sawpit to bring up the building's sub-menu, where you choose assignments for people and livestock.
If you still find that your Sawpit isn't producing planks, the issue might be that you don't have an Ox assigned to it. Oxen are your primary means of transporting heavy goods and resources, namely timber.

Scroll over to 'Advanced', and here you can assign livestock to the Sawpit. If you only have one Ox starting out you may want to wait until you've obtained another. Otherwise, assigning the only Ox you have to it can halt construction on other structures that need timber.
You can acquire more livestock by placing a trading via a Livestock Trading Post, or by placing a Livestock Order at your Hitching Post(s). Be mindful that you can only do the latter once a season.
Sawpits are one of the first constructs you can build in Manor Lords, and they're crucial for producing wood planks, which are then used for buildings like Churches and Manors.
