The 34th Nancy Drew game is officially in development by HeR Interactive

A mystery revealed.

After a three year hiatus, HeR Interactive, best known for their Nancy Drew adventure games, announced that they will be releasing one more title in the series. The last installment, Midnight in Salem, was thought by many fans to be the final game. The studio experienced mass layoffs in 2015, significantly delaying Midnight in Salem's release. Apparently, that will not be the last game in which we solve a mystery with the titular heroine.

HeR Interactive's Nancy Drew games series will continue with a 34th Nancy Drew mystery title

HeR interactive left plenty of clues behind in the first part of April 2023. It started with a April Fool's Day Instagram post that heavily hinted that a new adventure was in the works. But, due to the timing, fans were naturally skeptical that we'd actually be getting a new Nancy Drew game. Then a newsletter e-mail was sent to fans with a even more clues like slightly discolored letters inside a message that spelled out "You've been hacked" and "Thirty-four."

A YouTube Video and another Instagram Post made it official. A new 34th game is in the works. There are still plenty of unknowns, but it is nice to know that the series isn't quite done yet.

Everything we know about the next Nancy Drew game so far

We don't have any kind of release window yet, we just know that the game is under development by HeR Interactive. The "Dossier" games are not part of the numbered adventure game series, so it is highly likely that this will be a full adventure game and not a spin-off or mobile title. We also have no official word on what platforms the game will be available on. Generally, Nancy Drew adventure games are available on PC and Mac.

While a title for the 34th entry has not yet been announced, clever fans have pieced together some clues that point to a potential title, The Mystery of the Seven Keys. This is largely based on a trademark taken by HeR Interactive in October of 2021 with a corresponding number that has been popping up as a clue in other social media posts, like in the top right corner of this newsletter Twitter post.

On March 30, HeR Interactive also filed for another trademark, The Case of the Missing Clue. We don't know about you, but that title feels a bit generic for our taste. Hopefully we'll know the official title and have a release date soon.

What is the Secret Website for the 34th Nancy Drew Game?

A few days after the announcement of the new game, some fans discovered a new webpage at the company's official website. The Secret Webpage for the new Nancy Drew Game is password-protected, and the password has changed in the past based on new clues dropped on HeR Interactive's official Instagram and Twitter pages. If you want to know what the current password is, we have it here!

Videos like this greybox preview have been debuted on the webpage after fans cracked a new password. The website also contains links to past announcement videos, the newsletter, and social media accounts.
