To level up woodworking in New World, players will need to farm different types of wood materials and turn them into various kinds of lumber.
Players can turn freshly chopped wood into lumber via the workshop inside all major settlements. However, the best and fastest way to level woodworking in the game via the workshop is to farm timber and aged wood.
We also recommend just heading outside of a town with many trees nearby and farming the trees until you have a full inventory. Doing so will help raise your logging skill and get you the materials to turn into timber and lumber.

But if you want to make lumber, you will need sandpaper, which you can both make at the workshop with a common material converter and with materials such as the ones below.
- Sand Flux
- Weak Solvent
- Tannin
- Crossweave
Some materials on this list are easier to get than others but still require a few more steps. Because of this, you are best off just ignoring them and focusing on timber.
Timber is easy to get from greenwood from young trees, and young trees are prevalent near towns. So we recommend focusing on young trees and turning green wood into timber. The reason is simple, the more timber you make from greenwood, the more XP you will earn, and the more your level in woodworking will level up.
