New World’s 2023 Roadmap: Free and Premium Tracks, Unique Rewards, and More!

Get ready for the future of New World.

Amazon Games has announced that New World, it's massively multiplayer online role-playing game, is moving to a seasonal model. This move will introduce a season pass with two reward tracks: a free track and a premium track. Each season will last for approximately three months, presenting players with new treats, festivities, features, and gameplay experiences. At the end of each season, any unearned rewards that are unique to the season will be vaulted to cement the desirability and value of season rewards.

What is included in the New World season pass?

All players will have access to the free track of the season pass, and those who reach Level 25 will be able to purchase the premium track to earn additional premium rewards. It's also important to know that each of these season passes is bound to the account, not a specific character. The following is what players will receive according to which track they choose:

  • Free Track
    • This track is free for all players.
    • 100 levels with a reward for each level.
    • You'll receive skins, a pet for your house, Marks of Fortune, boost tokens, in-game seasonal weapons/armor, umbral shards, and materials.
    • 2,500 Marks of Fortune can be earned.
  • Premium Track
    • This track costs 20,000 Marks of Fortune and can only be accessed after Level 25.
    • 100 levels with a reward for each level.
    • 7,500 Marks of Fortune can be earned.
    • Unique rewards in this track will be vaulted once the season ends.

How do you earn Season XP in New World?

Players can earn XP through these seasons via any of the following activities:

  • Season Journey
    • The season journey includes five chapters of dedicated story content. Any and all updates will be included and will naturally progress players through the season.
  • Challenges
    • Challenges have higher XP rewards that players can earn.
  • Activity Card
    • The activity card is a mini-game similar to Bingo that allows players to participate in activities that grant stamps that will progressively fill up the card, earning more and more XP.
  • Passive
    • Most activities will grant passive XP. This could include completing an objective or defeating a faction enemy.

The first season, Fellowship & Fire, will officially kick off on March 28, 2023. Players will team up with an undefeatable mercenary group called the Silver Crows to protect the island of Aeternum, bringing back fan-favorite character Grace O'Malley. The season follows the Silver Crows as they are hired by their first client, Skye the Speardaughter, to track down and halt the ambitions of a powerful Warlock and the Varangian horde. This new content will provide players with a fresh and exciting experience.

In addition, New World will also introduce a new expedition called Empyrean Forge, a new Heartgem Ability called Fire Storm, and a new mechanic called Gear Set Storage. The Gear Set Storage mechanic will make it easier for players to manage their gear and equipment, allowing them to focus on the gameplay rather than inventory management. Also, a new server region called AP Northeast will be added to better serve players within Asia-Pacific locations. This will provide a better gaming experience for players in these regions.
