The announcement comes from developer relations of Roblox, Missimo93, over on the Roblox Dev Forum. Missimo93 said that the decision to allow a hybrid event for in-person and virtual options. On behalf of the company, Missimo93 asked for patience as the final preparations are made. The new date, along with more details, are expected soon.

RDC 2021, an invite-only event gathering the best artists, game developers, designers, and coders from the Roblox community, was originally scheduled for the weekend of July 16 to July 18. This year's conference would have been the second online-only event following RDC 2020, but as pandemic restrictions loosen in the U.S., it appears Roblox aims to make the hybrid option a reality.

The conference typically includes keynote speeches from CEO of Roblox David Baszucki, among many key figures of the Roblox Corporation. Numerous workshop sessions are held for Roblox creators which are designed to help these talented developers create the very best experiences on the platform.

The original July 2021 date promised a return of Game Jam, a weekend-long competition that tasks Roblox developers to create a game based off a pre-chosen theme. Game Jam often stretches the imaginations of Roblox developers which results in some creative experiences, all of which culminates in an award ceremony to celebrate the creators' hard work. Whether or not Game Jam will return in the Fall is not yet known.

Despite making the shift to a hybrid format, RDC 2021 remains invite-only, meaning the event is not open to the public. The conference is designed for Roblox developers and artists to network, attend panels, and learn more about the company's future. But, the Roblox company often provides updates, news, and videos online to help users feel included about the weekend's goings-on.

More details concerning RDC 2021's shift to the Fall season are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
