Octopath Traveler 2 is a sequel to Octopath Traveler, Square Enix's JRPG. In true turn-based RPG fashion, Octopath Traveler uses jobs or classes to determine a character's skills, abilities, and more. While each character has a primary class, they can also use a secondary class. This may leave you wondering how secondary classes work in Octopath Traveler 2.
Octopath Traveler 2 - Secondary Jobs, Explained
Each character in Octopath Traveler 2 has a unique job or class. This determines their skills and playstyles, which can be modified with secondary jobs, though these must be unlocked. Combining a character's main job with a secondary job creates new combinations and powerful units. Here are all character's jobs in Octopath Traveler 2.
- Osvald: Scholar
- Castti: Apothecary
- Throné: Thief
- Ochette: Hunter
- Partitio: Merchant
- Agnea: Dancer
- Temenos: Cleric
- Hikari: Warrior
Each character can be given a secondary job comprising the eight jobs in the game, though there are also secret jobs. However, a secondary job can only be used one at a time, meaning you cannot make your entire party have the Dancer job as a secondary job. You can assign a secondary job to one character and switch it to a different character later. Mixing jobs is a great way to experiment and determine the best combinations.
