Although Once Human is largely a looter shooter, it does have plenty of survival elements to its core, such as the need to remain hydrated. Water is largely toxic in Once Human, but there is a way to purify it to make it clean and drinkable.
How to purify water in Once Human
In most cases, when you find any sort of water, whether it's looted from somewhere or gathered from a body around the game world, you will find it a deterrent to drink due to the corruption overtaking everything. While you certainly can drink this dirty water to satisfy your thirst, it comes at the cost of a large amount of Sanity, which isn't good.
Rather than drinking dirty water, I recommend you cleanse it by using a Stove. A Stove is a Facility you can build on your property using materials that are rather commonplace in Once Human.
- 25 x Copper Ore - Obtained via mining Copper Ore veins scattered around the area
- 20 x Gravel - Obtained via gathering any veins scattered around the area
- 30 x Charcoal - Obtained via burning Wood in the Furnace
- 10 x Metal Scrapes - Obtained via looting the game world
Once you have these materials, simply go to the Build Screen, select Facilities, and choose the Stove option. Build it anywhere you see fit on your property. Once you've crafted your Stove, interact with it to bring up the crafting menu.
To cleanse the Dirty Water you have, select the Boiled Water option and choose to craft it. You'll need a small amount of Wood to do so, so gather some if you need to.
Once you've boiled the water, you can now drink it without fear of negative repercussions. The finished product is called Boiled Water, so make sure you're consuming that. You'll be doing this constantly throughout your stay in Once Human, so keep this process in mind when the going gets tough.
