Overwatch 2 Support Tier List – All Heroes, Ranked

How is Lifeweaver going to rank?

Now that Lifeweaver is finally in the game, many players are wondering how much it will shake up the tier list for supports in Overwatch 2. The top tier for supports is difficult to break into; we've seen as much with Kiriko and Lucio running the game for a good couple of months. That definitely isn't the case anymore, though, and it's a good opportunity for other supports to see plenty of game time in Ranked and Quick Play.

S Tier

Mercy

While there are a couple other heroes in Overwatch 2 that could compete for the S tier, Mercy is the only support that gets value no matter what. In fact, where most other heroes pray to have good teammates to win, Mercy makes average teammates into juggernauts with healing and damage boost. Skilled Mercy players can also take out opposing DPS with pistol shots in Valkryie form.

Zenyatta

Logically speaking, Zenyatta has everything it takes to reach the S tier. Orb of Discord can help teammates burn through tanky compositions, which can be pretty popular on Ranked. The issue with Zenyatta from a solo queue perspective, though, is he can't fulfill a primary healer role well. This won't be a problem when paired with something like a Mercy or Kiriko, but if Zenyatta gets paired with a Moira that spends all their time in the enemy backline, the Zen is forced to heal more and snipe less.

Brigitte, Kiriko, and Ana

The common trend with these heroes is they only dominate in the hands of a skilled player. While Brigitte can dive enemy backlines, a smart Brigitte will know when to pull back and heal up before they get poked out; Kiriko doesn't do to well if the player isn't hitting those headshots, and similar can be said for Ana with her sniping capability.

Baptiste and Lucio

Many players are big on Baptiste, but this hero really wants to be on a coordinated team instead of a solo queue team. It isn't a great meta for Baptiste given most teams don't want to play up front; they would rather flank to the side with Genji, Sombra, Reaper, or Tracer. Up against these compositions, a lot of Amplification Matrixes go to waste while teammates are firing at faraway targets.

Lucio is simply being outdone by many other supports, which are seeing lots of buffs lately. A skilled Lucio will always be able to dodge shots and annoy opposing DPS, though.

Lifeweaver and Moira

To some, it's sacrilege to place Moira anywhere outside of S tier, but she isn't used often in high rank compositions. Moira sees a lot of play in low ranks and Quick Play because she can annoy opposing DPS and then fade out of the backline.

Lifeweaver also needs a lot to go right for him to find value. Playing with a Bastion and a Sojourn? Then sure, those characters would love petals bringing them to the high ground and Life Grips protecting them. Playing with a Genji and a Reaper? They will ignore all of Lifeweaver's buffs, relegating him to helping out the tank and trying to help get kills with his primary fire, limiting his overall strength.
