Don't go hungry!

Palworld isn't just about catching Pals (even if it's a big part)—it's also a survival game. Thus, you'll need to find food to eat and keep your hunger restored. Here's how to cook food and eat it in Palworld.

Your hunger bar is located right underneath your health bar in Palworld, and if it goes down, it will lead to Starving. You'll begin to drain health if you get to this point, so let's make sure that doesn't happen and stock up on some food.

Where to get food in Palworld

There are a few different ways you can gather food to eat and use as ingredients to cook. The easiest way is to explore your surroundings and look for anything you can gather, such as Berries, Mushrooms, or anything else that grows from the ground, on bushes, or trees. You can even get some seeds from Berries to start growing your own.

The other way you can get food is to fight some wild Pals. Chikipis and Lamballs are some of the easiest Pals to slay, and they both drop meat; plus, the Chikipis also drop eggs.

If your hunger is down, you'll want to restore it by eating some food. Once you have food, open your inventory, hover over the food item, and then press the Use button shown at the top of the item (for the controller, this will be Y and M2 on PC). It will pop up a menu where you choose who you want to feed with that item.

Different food items have different nutritional values, restoring more or less hunger based on that value. Food items don't need to be cooked to eat, but they can restore more health if they are cooked.

You can turn your collected food into meals by cooking it. To begin cooking, you'll need to place a Campfire. This is unlocked right in Technology 2, and you only need 10 pieces of wood to build it. When you have a campfire placed down, approach it and press X on the controller or F on the PC to open a view of all the recipes you can make. Once you select a recipe and have the ingredients to make it, hold X or F on the Campfire to cook it faster. Then, Acquire it with the same button.

Cooked meals have higher nutritional value and can even restore some of your Pal's Sanity if you decide to feed it to them rather than yourself.

Make sure you stock up on as much food as possible to restore your health and care for your Pals. Food can go bad after a while, as shown by the timer on their icon, but if you keep adding to the stack, the timer will reset, allowing you to keep it longer.
