Wood is one of the most important resources in Palworld, used in a multitude of crafting recipes and structures. Here's how you can save time and get your Pals to farm Wood for you in Palworld.
How to farm Wood with Pals in Palworld
Only Pals with the Logging work suitability can farm Wood for you in Palworld. While these are typically Grass-type Pals, a variety of elements include Pals with the Logging skill. Early on, I suggest catching Eikthyrdeer, a Neutral-type available right from the start in Windswept Hills that has Logging level 2.
Build a Logging Site
The easiest way to have your Pals farm Wood for you is to build a Logging Site at your base. The Logging Site is a Production structure found in the build menu; once placed at your base, it allows you to farm Wood infinitely without having to wait for trees to regrow. Logging Sites cost 50 Wood, 20 Stone, and 10 Paldium Fragments to build.
Pals at your base with the Logging suitability will automatically use the Logging Site to generate Wood for you. You can also assign them to work at the site to keep them from wandering off and performing other tasks. The only downside to the Logging Site is that it does not generate Fiber, but you can solve this by building a Crusher, which converts Wood into Fiber.
Summoning Pals
If you have a Pal in your party with the Logging work suitability, you can have them farm Wood for you at any time by summoning them. You can summon Pals to farm trees both at your base and in the wild, as long as you throw the Pal Sphere at a Logging Site or any tree. This is especially useful if the Pals at your base are asleep, taking a break, or eating food, as party members can gather resources for you at any time.
Build your base near trees
If your base has trees naturally growing inside it, Pals with the Logging work suitability will automatically farm them for Wood, much like Logging Sites. While each tree produces a limited amount of Wood, this method allows you to obtain Fiber without requiring an additional structure. Trees will also grow back over time, providing an infinite (albeit slow) source of Wood right in your base.
