What happens if you disassemble Palbox in Palworld

All that remains... is a chair...

There aren't many reasons as to why you'd disassemble your Palbox in Palworld, but doing so does have some interesting effects on your base. If you're curious about what happens when you do, keep reading.

What happens if you dismantle the Palbox in Palworld?

When you attempt to disassemble your Palbox, you're given a frightening warning about doing so. It effectively functions like a disclaimer that intends to discourage you, but it's not all doom and gloom (at least not initially).

Initiating disassembly on your Palbox causes a slow breakdown of the base your Palbox governed. As this is not a reversible choice, there is no stopping the decay once it starts, thus beginning a race against time for you to secure as much of your old base as possible.

Pals that were working at the base are immediately returned to your Pal storage upon disassembly. This means you will not lose any of your valuable Pals under any circumstance relating to the Palbox. No problem.

The issues come with your storage goods, however. Upon disassembly, the goods in your base will remain where they are. However, you should urgently seek to move your resources elsewhere as fast as possible. While I don't have an exact timeframe, the remnants of your base will eventually disappear, taking your resources and anything else you had stored with it. I've tested this with my base and all I was left with was a single chair, so I urge you to heed this warning as you read it.

Next, you will not be able to Fast-Travel back to a base with no Palbox. The Palbox is the heart of any base, so this is mostly self-explanatory. However, while Fast Travel is no longer possible, that doesn't mean you can't use the facilities that remain. Workbenches that were in the base will still be usable after you've disassembled your Palbox. I can't recommend crafting anything in a base with no beating heart, but you have the option. Again though, the whole base will disappear in due time, so make it quick if you must craft something.

Lastly, all of your storage structures will remain usable without a Palbox around. However, I don't recommend keeping storage in a location that is prone to disappearing after some time.

How do you move resources from a base in Palworld?

Most resources in Palworld are heavy, and moving a large number of them from a defunct base with no Palbox can be difficult. There is no easy solution, but there are some things you can do that will ease the pain a little.

  • Raise your Weight Stat - Increasing your Weight stat lets you carry heavier stuff. Resources like Ore are among the heaviest in the game, so this stat is a godsend if you've been investing in it. If not, it's time to start.
  • Fill your party with Broncherry - Broncherrys have a passive called Overaffectionate, which lets you carry more weight. This effect stacks, dramatically boosting how much weight you can carry without becoming over-encumbered.
  • Plan Ahead - Before initiating the disassembly of your Palbox, plan ahead and move your resources prior to your self-inflicted doomsday event. This gives you an unlimited amount of time to figure out the logistics of moving a base's worth of resources to another location.
