How to try & fuse higher level Personas in P3 Reload

You can either push your luck or increase your Social Links.

Fusing Personas is essential to get a massive edge over shadows, as they massively dictate the flow of battle for your team. In this guide, I'll explain all methods of how you can fuse higher-level Personas in P3 Reload.

How to fuse higher level Personas in Persona 3 Reload

If you want to sort of cheese Tartarus in Persona 3 Reload, you can fuse higher-level Personas at fairly low(er) levels. Here are a couple of ways to do this.

Social Links

One of the significant aspects of playing a Persona game is Social Links. If you're unfamiliar with how S-Links work, maxing them out will allow you to fuse an Arcana's Ultimate Persona (i.e. Cybele for the Lovers Arcana).

S-Links also provide an EXP burst to any Persona fusions under their respective Arcana. In the photo above, I fused Dionysus (Moon Arcana). I received substantial EXP due to my Rank 8 Moon S-Link boosting Dionysus to Level 53 (originally 49).

I recommend you max out your Social Links as early as possible to optimize your Fusion process and get much more powerful Personas. Although you will still have to level up to fuse each S-Link's ultimate Persona, you'll still get the EXP burst benefit during your early to mid-game phase.

Fusion Accidents or Wildcards

Fusion Accidents or Wildcards allow you to get a random Persona (even ones that aren't on your compendium) instead of the intended outcome. The exact chance percentage of a Fusion Accident is unknown. However, it's likely to occur during or near each month's Full Moon.

Fusion accidents are very rare, but they do happen from time to time. In the image below, I tried to fuse a Level 47 Hecatoncheires but suddenly got a Level 39 Orobas. It's not an ideal outcome since the level and stats of my intended Persona are much stronger than the accidental Persona.

Fusion Accidents can be a double-edged sword as they can sometimes give you a powerful Persona above your level, like Satan, which you can normally get by fusing Mara and Lilith or Lakshmi and Horus. However, in my only Fusion Acciden encounter, I got a much weaker Persona than the intended one.

If you want to roll the dice and count on getting a very powerful Persona through this process, I recommend visiting the Velvet Room the day before the Full Moon or even during the Full Moon itself. However, you'll have to spend a lot of Yen to try and fuse Personas before you can get a Wildcard.
