How to download & play the Pikmin 4 demo

Pikmin has always been a quirky and delightful series, and I'm looking forward to marshaling my Pikmin in Pikmin 4, especially with the new character creator. Fortunately, I don't have to wait until it officially releases, as Nintendo has announced a demo ahead of its release. This may leave you wondering when the Pikmin 4 demo is and how to play it.

Pikmin 4 - How to download the demo

You can download the Pikmin 4 demo from the Nintendo eshop. You simply need to search for Pikmin 4 on your Nintendo Switch or through the Eshop website, though this second option requires you to be logged into your Nintendo account and have it connected to your Switch. From there, simply click the Download Demo button.

When is the Pikmin 4 demo?

You can download the demo for Pikmin 4 on June 28, 2023. This was announced during the Nintendo Direct on June 21, 2023, meaning you'll have to wait a week before you can jump into the demo. But this is plenty of time before Pikmin 4's release date.

Does progress from the Pikmin 4 demo carry over?

At the time of writing, we do not know if the demo for Pikmin 4 will allow you to carry your save data over to the full release. While we hope this feature will be implemented, it is uncertain if progress will carry over. That said, the demo will offer plenty of content to check out and give you an idea of what to expect in Pikmin 4.
