How to break the big rocks in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

You can’t rely on Wrydeer forever!

When you’re traveling around Hisui, you’ll notice a couple of big rocks blocking your way. These rocks lead to locations that spawn new Pokémon, minerals, and more. But how do you break them?

To break these big rocks, you need a Pokémon that has the potential to learn Rock Smash and add it to your party. Throw the Pokémon at the rocks as you would to a tree to shake it.

The Pokémon doesn’t need to know Rock Smash. Rock Smash doesn’t even have to be a part of their passive move list yet. If you go to Zisu in Jubilife Village and find Rock Smash to be one of the moves they can learn, they can break those rocks.

The best example of this is Graveler. Graveler doesn't learn Rock Smash naturally, but Zisu can teach it to them for a price. Therefore, any Graveler you catch can break the rocks by default. Zisu doesn't need to teach them to move.

In fact, here's a fun fact: if you started with Rowlet, Hisuian Decidueye could learn Rock Smash too! Most Fighting-types, like Machoke, can learn the move as well.
