How to swap Pokémon in Legends Arceus

Where are all my Pokémon going?

It’s customary to send Pokémon that can’t fit in your party to a designated box. But in Hisui, there are no boxes—there’s only the pasture. If you’re swapping Pokémon from your party, you need access to the pasture.

Access to the pasture is located in two spots: talking to Marie in Jubilife Village (east side) or speaking with the Galaxy Expedition member in your camps. The latter is also the guy who offers items when you're out on an expedition and a chance for you and your Pokémon to rest.

The pasture menu is also where you’re able to release your Pokémon back into the wild, which is recommended for all those extras you’re catching to complete the Pokédex. After all, there are only eight pastures that can hold 30 Pokémon each.

Released Pokémon also give you Grit items, which are needed to raise a Pokémon’s effort levels (ELs). Every Pokémon stat (such as Atk and Def) has an EL. All six can be maxed to ten, not just by defeating other Pokémon, but by feeding them Grit items as well.
