Where to find Heatran in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

We love Heatran even though we know it's not great.

The Volcano Pokémon Heatran is found during the post-game of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. You'll encounter it during your quest to obtain all of the plates; specifically, you'll run into Heatran during Mission 22: The Plate of Firespit Island.

How to catch Heatran

Heatran challenges you to fight in an enclosed cave where it will charge at you while engulfed in flames or shoot homing fireballs at you. You'll need to pop its bubble first before you can start actually fighting it.

You can pop Heatran's heat bubble by slinging a bunch of mud at it. Luckily, there are more than enough mud balls on the floor of Heatran's cavern. Run around to pick them up, then start pelting the legendary with some mud.

Once you've hucked enough at Heatran, it'll lose its bubble and become stunned. Circle around to its back and chuck your Pokémon at it to start the fight with Heatran unable to act for a turn or two. From there, it's your average fight.

Heatran is a level 70 Fire and Steel-type Pokémon. It boasts a lot of weaknesses for a Steel-type Pokémon and isn't as tanky as you might expect, so pick your moves with care.

Don't worry about accidentally KO'ing Heatran, though. You can retry the fight as many times as you need until you catch it. You'll need to pelt Heatran with mud again each time you fail, though.
