Best nature for Latias in The Indigo Disk in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

That Weakness Policy set is a flat out game-winner.

Latias may not hit as hard as its counterpart, Latios, but it makes up for that by being way more versatile. Trainers may want to think of raising one with the right nature in The Indigo Disk in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, since it can use a lot of different sets.

What is the best nature for Latias in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

Latias essentially has more bulk than Latios while still retaining some of its strength on the special said. Therefore, trainers can pick whether they want to go offensive or defensive with this legendary. Here are the best natures for Latias:

  • Timid (+Speed, -Atk)
  • Calm (+Sp Def, -Atk)
  • Bold (+Def, -Atk)

The first option, Timid, is there because Latias is a serviceable Choice Scarf user. Latios is better at that role because of more damage, but Latias gets added utility with Healing Wish, a move that can bring a teammate in with full health and cured status.

Calm would be the more defensive option. Latias is also capable of running the Agility and Weakness Policy set, where it would want the extra Special Defense to live Moonblasts and Ice Beams. Other than that, Latias could just run Defog, a couple attacks and Roost to stay healthy.

Finaly, Bold is an option for Calm Mind Latias. Since it's so bulky, Latias can become unkillable after boosting with Calm Mind. Since Calm Mind boosts Special Defense, though, it's better to enhance Latias' Physical Defense with this set.

How to choose the best nature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

To choose a good nature, trainers must first think of which role the Pokémon will be playing on their team. If a particular team is frail, the trainer might want to add a bulky Pokémon with a defense boosting nature. On the other hand, teams that lack power might need a Speed boosted sweeper or an attack boosted wall-breaker.
