  • Use the Nintendo Switch system's local wireless
  • Connect with players via the internet

What to do in multiplayer mode in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Playing Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet with friends opens up many new possibilities. When you go to Union Circle, you'll be able to:

  • Defeat Tera Pokémon in Tera Raid Battles
  • Trade Pokémon with other players
  • Face wild Pokémon
  • Discover together the vast Paldea region
  • Play through the main stories
  • Hang out with friends and show each other your Pokémon.

Can all players go separate ways?

Not many details are known about how co-op will work in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet yet, but the second trailer shows all four trainers together with their Pokémon and their splitting up. This seems to imply that players will be able to go their separate ways and not have to stay in proximity to one another.

If this is true, it leaves the question of how far apart players can get from one another without disconnecting. As the launch day approaches, the Pokémon Company will likely reveal more information about this feature.
