How to get Arcanine in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

To evolve Growlithe into Arcanine in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you must get a Fire Stone. Growlithe will not evolve by leveling it up, only by using a Fire Stone. You can purchase Fire Stones from the Delibird Presents stores for 3,000 Poké Dollars, but you must first have beaten three gym leaders.

You can also find Fire Stones in the wild of Paldea if you prefer to get one sooner. The best place to get one is north of Artazon along the river bank of East Province Area Two. We have marked the location on the map below.

After you get a Fire Stone, you simply need to use it on your Growlithe to cause it to evolve into Arcanine. Press X to open your main menu and select Bag. Scroll to the Other Items tab, the candy icon, and then find the Fire Stone. Select it and then use it on Growlithe to evolve it into Arcanine in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
