It's the month of Halloween, and The Pokémon Company seems to be imbued by the spooky spirit.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

It seems The Pokémon Company is fully immersed into the Halloween spirit, as a new max raid is coming to Pokémon Sword and Shield, for a chance for players to catch some ghastly Pokémon! Events like these are quite regular and they generally happen not only on the Pokémon console games, but only Pokémon Go as well. So who's ready to catch some spooky Pokémon?

A selection of spooky Pokemon!

For the entire month of October, certain Dark and Ghost-type Pokémon and pre-evolved forms will appear in Max Raid dens more often than usual, and that's only a small selection. For all the Pokémon available to be caught, click here. Oh, this also includes the Gigantamax forms of Gengar and Grimmsnarl. We all know that Gigantamax Pokémon are a rarity outside of events, so no doubt you'll want to add them to your collection, as they are incredibly powerful.

The event has already started, and it runs till 4:59 PM PT / 7:59 PM ET on October 31st. To start the event, it's best to reset your Max Raid dens; you can do this one of two ways. Connect to the Y-Comm online, or by going into the Mystery Gift menu, and picking Get the Wild Area News. Either one of these will reset your dens in-game.

This is not the only event happening, as over in Pokémon Go, there are a few events taking place! The first is an October Community Day, which features the fiery Charmander. Next up, you can encounter special Pikachus wearing different caps on certain Tuesdays for Pokémon Spotlight Hour!

Also the next Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion, the Crown of Tundra has been brought forward a month, and it's now releasing on October 23, 2020!
