Crown Tundra: How to get Victini

Where can Victini be found in the Crown Tundra?
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

There is so much to do in the latest Pokémon Sword and Shield expansion, the Crown Tundra. We hope you're stocked up on Ultra Balls as there is a lot of Legendary Pokémon to be captured. We say a lot, but every single one is available in the DLC. However, some are harder to find than others, and no one has caught them all yet! It's surprising how many varied ways there are to encounter them all, from solving puzzles, Dynamax Adventures, even finding them meandering around the icy region!

How to find a Victini

The way to get Victini in Crown Tundra is currently unknown at the moment, but we do know that they are in the game. Even dataminers are having trouble narrowing down the Fire-Psychic-type Mythical Pokémon's location. Victini has been giving all players the cold shoulder since the launch of the DLC last week.

All dataminers have discovered is that Victini is in the game, but as a static encounter in the overworld. Potentially, this could mean a few things, either you can find Victini somewhere in the region wandering around, at a certain time, or in certain weather, even both. That's quite a lot of parameters to attempt to discover where the Mythical Pokémon is hiding.

The other method is you could get it from a NPC for completing a very vague scenario or something along those lines. Yet, once again, it could fall into the parameters above. No one knows just yet.

However, if you are truly aiming for that 100% Pokédex in-game, you've got other choices apart from waiting for Victini. If you have one in Pokémon Home, you can trade them over to Pokémon Sword or Shield, or perhaps a friend will trade you one.

There is a rumor pointing to Victini being rewarded in the Galarion Star Tournament, which makes sense as Victini is the Victory Pokémon, but alas, nothing has been confirmed yet. If dataminers can't find the location, all we can do is wait for more information.

If it does end up being rewards from the Galarion Star Tournament, it would not surprise us, as Victini's Pokedex entry from Pokémon X according to Serebii is the following:

This Pokémon brings victory. It is said that Trainers with Victini always win, regardless of the type of encounter.
