If there is one thing most Pokémon fans covet, it is shiny Pokémon. These are rare Pokémon that features a different color palette than their original counterparts. Finding a shiny, though, is incredibly rare: 1 in 4,096 kinds of rare. But there is a way to increase these odds.
This is to get the Shiny Charm, which makes a return in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. To get the Shiny Charm, you will have to complete the National Pokédex like in previous games. After that, head to the Hotel Grand Lake which is south of Valor Lakefront. This is no easy task as there are 493 Pokémon.

The Shiny Charm normally increases your odds of finding a shiny Pokémon to 1 in 1,365 but it seems that this only affects eggs in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. This is disappointing as it affected all Pokémon in previous games. Hopefully, this will get patched in later updates.
Shiny Pokémon can be identified in a few ways. First is the obvious color difference. Secondly, when a shiny Pokémon is sent out into battle, there will be a star effect around them. Lastly, you can see red stars when looking at your Pokémon in your party.
