Chapter 11, Part 2: To the Bitter End Battle Guide – Triangle Strategy

Two bosses make a spicy challenge.

Triangle Strategy's Chapter XI, Part II: To the Bitter End makes a battleground of the Rosellan Village, with its rooftops and tiered platforms. The stage amounts to a stairstep incline, with your team at the top to man a few key entry points. The enemy will try to approach you from below. A new battle, Safeguarding the Roselle, will commence once you choose your units. To win, "decimate the enemy forces." To lose, see every one of your units perish.

Unit Selection and Battle Strategy

Unless you choose to have a few strong and stealthy units like Anna venture onto the ground, you'll want to pick units that specialize in effective ranged attacks, whether with magic, offensive items, or arrows. You'll be able to block enemies at entry points with Corentin's Ice Wall ability, but you'll also need to rely on Serenoa and Roland's strong attacks to hit the ones that get past.

Bring units that can climb or fly up to the rooftops. Hughette's flying capabilities and Anna's Surmount ability will be useful. Heavy hitters like Erador will be helpful, as he uses his Ram Foe ability to push enemies off ledges where they take additional damage upon falling.

Use Ezana's formidable thunder and wind attacks, which are perfect for targeting the narrow areas these foes will attempt to squeeze through. Narve also has potent wind magic that will hit the same way, and his Sanctuary ability can multiple allied units at once. You can also use Piccoletta, whose Decoy ability allows her to make a copy of herself that can move and attack on its own—two units in one. Enemies will waste their turns taking her decoy bait.

Silvio and Rufus double the challenge

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

The battle commences with the return of Rufus, now at level 20. He's on the ground to the side, surrounded by two Hyzantian Rogues, a bowman, and a Battlemage—all at level 18. On the ground at the bottom of the stage is the other boss, Silvio, also at level 20. He stands behind two more Rogues, two more Battlemages, another bowman, and a single healer—all at level 18. You'll have six allied units on the rooftops to one side and four on opposite rooftops, with a Rosellan ally in Jerome, level 19. He'll act on his own.

Rufus and Silvio are, unfortunately, resistant to blindness, sleep, and poison. You'll have to take this battle slow and eventually hit them with ranged attacks. Once Silvio approaches you, he'll steal your units' TP while dealing damage, so watch out. It's highly recommended you go for their supporting units before focusing on them, since their battlemages and bowmen can hit you from below.

Before long, two more Rogues and two more Bowmen will come to Silvio's aid. After Jerrome helps you finish Rufus's guard, and lastly Rufus himself, make your way to the rest of the fight. For this battle more than any before, you'll need to take your time. Use Lionel and his Inciting Whispers ability to have these foes attack each other, and be ready with your healing items or spells. Medina's Double Item ability may make all the difference.

Get prepared with Mental Mock Battles

Along with saving, consider leveling your characters to the recommended 18 using the Mental Mock Battles at the Encampment. Use the spoils, especially from Hossabara's latest available battle, to upgrade the weapon ranks of your strongest fighters. And definitely stock up on accessories and HP Recovery Pellets from Lionel.
