How to play Tubarão in Rainbow Six Siege - Weapons, gadgets, ability

Tubarão, originating from Portugal, is a Defender and a member of the Wolfguard squad in Rainbow Six Siege. He has a total of 2 out of 3 health and 2 out of 3 speed. Tubarão also comes with a special new gadget known as the Zoto Canister, in addition to his impressive loadout.

  • Primary Weapon
    • MPX Submachine Gun
    • AR-15.50 Assault Rifle
  • Secondary Weapon
    • P226 MK 25 Handgun
  • Gadget
    • Nitro Cell
    • Proximity Alarm
  • Unique Ability
    • Zoto Canister

His Primary weapons are both pretty great and close to the top of the most powerful weapons in Siege. And I love that he has the Nitro Cell, as nothing is better than getting to blow up an enemy who isn't expecting it.

Tubarão is a crowd-controlling operator, so his main function is to waste as much time for the enemy team as possible and to deny them entry. He is also one of the best gadget deniers in the game. He achieves all of this with the use of his Zoto Canisters.

Tubarão comes with four Zoto Canisters. Each canister remains active for approximately 10 seconds after being thrown unless an enemy shoots it. The Zoto Canisters slow down operators who walk on top of the expansive frozen radius while also causing a frosted effect on their screen. In my experience, this is quite annoying when attacking.

The Zoto Canisters also leave footprints of operators on the lower floor when they walk within the radius of the canister. Now I know what you're thinking: you could use C4 to blow up the ceiling and eliminate the enemy above you. However, electronics do not function properly under certain temperatures. Therefore, it would be more effective to wallbang the enemy instead. You can use the electronic-disabling feature to your advantage if you're creative.

Since the Zoto Canisters have a time limit, you want to save them for when they are most needed. I find he is best in combination with anti-gadget operators, Kaid, Bandit, or Mute. The Canisters will freeze the breach charges for long enough so you can trick with all of the three mentioned operators. I am very happy with this as Bandit will finally be able to trick and not just get hurt by Thermite or Ace.

I also recommend placing the Zoto Canisters on the ceiling when you are playing on lower floors and can hear steps above you. Ram has really improved the two-floor playstyle, but Tubarão's ability will be able to negate it. It's also a good idea to throw the Canisters if you notice a fuze charge, though that might be more difficult as you need great reflexes.

The best thing is the Zoto Canisters are small, so the enemy has to search for them, aim, and shoot them down if they want the effect to end quickly. This gives you ample time to catch them off guard and eliminate them.

If you don't want to stay cooped up on the site, you can even use Tubarao as a roamer. Attackers often place claymores to feel secure so no one can sneak up on them. With the Zoto Canisters, you can easily freeze them and get a kill or two in before they even realize what's going on.

Keep in mind that the Zoto Canisters won't work on frag grenades as well as on Zofia's explosive charge. Maverick's torch will get a one-second delay if he interacts with frozen reinforcements, Castle's barricades, and Azami's barriers. After that, he'll be able to ignore the freezing effect and continue as he usually does.
