Vampires are the primary antagonist of Redfall, Bethesda, and Arkane's co-op FPS. Players take on the role of one of four characters and must rid the town of Redfall of vampires while discovering what happened. Players will encounter vampire nests throughout the city, gathering places for vampires they must clear. However, vampire nests have modifying characteristics with different effects, which may leave you wondering what nest characteristics do in Redfall.
All Redfall Nest Modifiers, Explained
While playing Redfall, you will encounter vampire nests. These have different modifiers that change what you will encounter and, thus, how you approach them. Unfortunately, it is not always clear what the modifier is and how it affects the nest, so I've had to stumble through them and discover what they do with brute force. We have listed all the nest characteristics we've encountered in Redfall below.
This is work and progress, and we will update it as we discover more.
- Blood Trance
- All vampires in this nest are linked. If you attack one or touch the tendrils, all vampires will become alert. Use stealth when facing this nest.
- Fire
- Fire will spawn in the nest.
- Watcher
- Special Watcher vampires will spawn. These can spot you from further distances.
- Darkness
- The nest is covered in darkness, limiting your vision.
- Elite
- Elite vampires spawn more often.
- Heart Guardian
- A Heart spawns in the nest and is guarded by a special vampire.
Some nest modifiers are more challenging than others, but each adds a new element to the nest. You have no idea what modification will appear until entering the nest. If you've encountered a nest modifier we don't have listed, let us know, and we can update our list.
