Risk of Rain 2 Lunar Items List – Lunar Equipment, Blue Items

We're taking a look at a list of all of the Lunar Items in Rise of Rain 2!

Our Risk of Rain 2 Lunar Items List features all of the Lunar Items you can find currently in the game! These items have some powerful effects, so it's good to know what you are getting into before spending your Lunar Coins on them. Not all items will be beneficial to your build, make sure to be careful before deciding whether or not to grab the item.

Lunar Coins are an account wide currency that you will maintain even after you finish a run. They are a rare drop you will see from time to time when an enemy is killed. Anyone can grab a Lunar Coin once it has dropped, so make sure to nab it before someone else does! If you save up 10 of the coins, you can use them to unlock the Artificer which is in the Bazaar Between Time. This will spawn if you pay a Lunar Coin at a newt alter, or it will randomly spawn once you've defeated a boss (it's a blue portal that appears next to the teleporter).

Risk of Rain 2 Lunar Items List

You will find Lunar Chests randomly throughout the different levels in the game. They cost 1 Lunar Coin to open, and will give you a randomly chosen option of the following items (including the equipment).

Brittle Crown

30% chance on hit to gain 3 (+3 per stack) gold. Lose gold equal to the amount you are hit for OR lose % gold equal to the % maximum health you lost. Chooses the greater of the two.

This item is pretty interesting, but if you are getting hit a lot it's not so great. It's also better if you hitting enemies quite often, so something like the Engineer would be a good class for this item who will be getting gold from their turrets. The other bonus for Engineer is that if their turrets are hit, you do NOT lose gold. A lot of the time your turrets will be the main focus of your enemies, so you won't have to worry about getting hit too often.

Blocking hits will also reduce your gold, so even if you've got items that are high in block that won't make a difference.


Heal +100% (+100% per stack) more. All healing is applied over time. Can heal for a maximum of 10% (reduced by 50% per stack) of your health per second.

This item seems to be pretty bad, because healing will end up being very slow, especially in the late game. If you were to lose 80% of your health, it would take 8 second to recover it all because of the 10% maximum heal per second.

Gesture of the Drowned

Reduce Equipment cooldown by 50% (+50% per stack). Forces your Equipment to activate whenever it is off cooldown.

This Lunar Item requires you to complete a challenge first. The challenge is called, The Demons and the Crabs. To complete this one, you'll need to Kill 20 Hermit Crabs by chasing them off the edge of the map. Hermit Crabs are the little enemies that look like parts of scenery, but if they are damaged or you get close to them they will pop up and try to run away. You will need to find these and chase them off the cliff, they don't start spawning until the fourth level and that one doesn't have cliffs. So, you'll need to get further into the game to start getting this going.

This item pairs well with Disposable Missile Launcher and Fuel Cells. Basically, equipment items you are going to want to have triggered a bunch once they are off cooldown.

Shaped Glass

Increase base damage by 100% (+100% per stack). Reduce maximum health by 50% (50% per stack).

This is the literal definition of being a "glass cannon." Your health is cut in half, but you get double your base damage. This can be better with items that increase your health, or you will need a lot of mobility to avoid any damage coming in because you'll be very easy to kill!


Convert all but 1 health into regenerating shields. (shields regenerate faster than base health regeneration) Gain 50% (+25% per stack) maximum health.

Good item for most classes except for the Engineer (you are looking for lots of healing for your turrets, and you don't want just shields). Shields regenerate back very quickly and you get a pretty nice pool of health to work with. However, if you've got a bunch of items that regenerate health already, you'll likely want to avoid this item.

These are a bit different than items because you actively have to use them and they fit into your last ability slot.

Effigy of Grief

All characters within an area are slowed by 50% and have their armor reduced by 20%.

This item is kind of a pain to use, because you have to place it down where you want the field to exist. Then you have to go and pick it up and move it again if you want it somewhere else. You can also just forget about it and go to the next level and lose it... Like I did once... This will also debuff you and your teammates, so make sure not to stand in the field!

Glowing Meteorite

Rain meteors from the sky, damaging ALL characters for 600% damage per blast. Last 20 seconds.

While this does a ton of damage, it also does damage to you and your teammates! It's also pretty random, so you aren't going to have any real control over it. You can unlock the Glowing Meteorite by carrying 5 Lunar items in a single run to complete the Moon Worshipper challenge.

Hellfire Tincture

Ignite ALL characters within 8m. Deal 5% of your maximum health/second as burning to yourself. The burn is 0.5x stronger on allies, and 24x stronger on enemies.

This one is kind of weak on every class but Mercenary, because for the most part you aren't going to be wanting to stand next to enemies too often on any other character. You are also damaging yourself, and even your allies so be careful! You'll want to stack this with other items that restore your health. You can unlock the Hellfire Tincture by killing 15 enemies simultaneously and completing the Multikill! challenge.

  1. The transcendence makes it were hellfire tincture does no damage to you apparently, I just did a run and got both and I didn’t take damage from it.

    1. Pretty sure it won’t do damage to enemies either then. It deals damage to you and enemies based on your max health, so if your health is 1, it won’t do any damage to you, or damage enemies either.
