Adopt Me Pet Ages & Levels List – Neon Stages!

How old is your pet?

Just as the name states, Adopt Me! players can adopt hundreds of adorable animals/creatures and care for them similarly to how they'd care for a real-life pet, by keeping an eye on their needs, dressing them up, and, in most cases, raising them from a newborn to a full-grown pet. In Adopt Me!, this process is called "aging up," and while it can seem a bit confusing at first (trust me, I know it looks intimidating!), it's actually fairly simple—you'll just need to ensure you have some extra time.

All Adopt Me! Pet Ages and Levels

The ages/levels of a Normal Pet in Adopt Me! can be found below. No matter its rarity, your normal pet will go through these levels to become fully grown.

  1. Newborn
  2. Junior
  3. Pre-Teen
  4. Teen
  5. Post-Teen
  6. Full Grown

If you turn four fully grown pets into a Neon Pet, however, the process will essentially start over again, and the ages will be different. Below is a list of the ages/levels (in order) that a Neon Pet can grow through.

  1. Reborn
  2. Twinkle
  3. Sparkle
  4. Flare
  5. Sunshine
  6. Luminous
  7. Mega-Neon (Full Grown)

How to Age Up pets in Adopt Me! - Number of Tasks needed for each age level & pet rarity

Depending on your pet's rarity, it will take a certain amount of tasks to upgrade your pet through each level. How to use Age Up potions in Adopt Me! - Number of Age Up potions needed for each pet rarity

Age Up potions were added in July 2023 and can be obtained by leveling up the friendship of a fully-grown pet. Each time a pet's friendship level is increased, you'll earn an Age Up potion, and there's no level cap on friendship, so you can technically obtain an infinite amount!

The number of Age Up potions needed to grow each pet rarity from newborn to full grown is listed below.

  • Common - 2 Age Up potions
  • Uncommon - 3 Age Up potions
  • Rare - 4 Age Up potions
  • Ultra-Rare - 6 Age Up potions
  • Legendary - 10 Age Up potions

How to Hatch Eggs in Adopt Me!

How to level up pets in Adopt Me! fast - Adopt Me! Pet Leveling Tips

It's known within the Adopt Me! community that the Age Up process is a bit tedious, and that it can sometimes take an annoyingly long amount of time. Because of this, clever players created an internal "hack" or short cut (dubbed the Grinding Room) that allows them to complete pet tasks at a quicker rate than normal.

A Grinding Room involves placing a cheap crib, a tub, a feeder, and a piano all in one room of your house. Though a Grinding Room doesn't cover every single task, it does corral sleeping, feeding, drinking, and boredom all in one place, and is one of the fastest ways to level up your pet.

If you don't want to/can't set up a Grinding Room, that's totally okay; you can always level up your pet the more traditional way! Take them to the nursery, pick up some Golden Apples from the doctor's office in case they get sick, and have a sandwich on your person for whenever they get hungry. The way in which you level up your pets is totally personal to you—there's no right or wrong way to do it!
