There are different items in Hide The Body that can help you hide bodies, slow down the Friend NPC, and even give you a speed boost when needed. This guide will tell you how to obtain and equip these in the game and how to get the best out of every item!
How To Buy & Equip Items in Hide The Body
There are six Items in Hide The Body that you can buy from the Shop in the Lobby. Just walk up to the Shop, press on the Items tab, and buy whichever item you want using Coins. When you click on Buy, the item goes to your inventory.
Once an item is in your inventory, you can use it by dropping it on the map and picking it up just like you pick up the other stuff on the map.
To access you inventory, press G if you're playing on PC or tap on the bag icon in the top-left corner if you're playing on mobile. Then, tap on the Item that you wish to use and it will drop in front of you. Now, simply pick it up and use the item however you want.
Best Uses for All Items in Hide The Body

| Banana Peel | Causes NPCs to slip. | Place it near doors and entrances to make the Friend NPC immobile for up to 5 seconds. Drop on the map, then click and hold to drag and place. |
| Box | Spacious box to hide a body. | Use in small maps when you run out of hiding spots to hide more bodies easily. |
| Lamp | Lights up a room. | Improve your visibility and gameplay at Night Time. Must-have on the Cemetery map. |
| Balloon | Flies away with the dead body. | Use to quickly get rid of the body without using up a hiding spot. Just drop the balloon on the map, pick it up, and drop it over the dead body and it will fly away. |
| Trap | Stops the NPC for some time. | Use it near dead bodies hidden in tricky positions to divert the Friend NPC. Place it near entrances to buy up to 10 seconds of time. |
| Speed Coil | Speeds up when picking up. | [TBA] This item currently does not work as intended. |
If you want to show up on those leaderboards, you will definitely have to use a few of these items. The Balloon and the Box are two very handy items which is why they are the costliest as well - 125 Coins for 1x Balloon and 75 Coins for 1x Box.
Also note that some of these items are single use while others can be used multiple times as long as you are in the same game.
The Balloon will fly away with the dead body so if you only have 1 Balloon in your inventory, you're done. Similarly, one Box hides one body. You will need multiple Balloon and Boxes if you want to hide/get rid of multiple bodies.
On the other hand, items like the Trap, Lamp, and Banana Peel are re-usable as long as the friend NPC doesn't find a body. So, for example, if you set up a Trap in one place, you can pick it up again and place it in another place without using up another Trap from your inventory.
