How to get a boat in Roblox Fisch

The rowboat is SO SLOW.

So, you’re ready to leave the starter island in Roblox Fisch and explore the great watery beyond? Well, first things first - you’ll need a boat! But here’s the catch: Boats only unlock after you complete the tutorial quests. It’s one of those things the game doesn’t make super clear, so if you’ve tried talking to the Shipwright and nothing happened, it’s because you haven’t finished those pesky starter quests yet!

How to buy your first boat in Fisch on Roblox

Step 1: Complete the tutorial quests

To even think about sailing on the open seas of the Fisch experience, you need to finish the tutorial quests, which start by talking to Pierre. This is one of those moments where it feels like the game is testing your patience, especially since no instructions pop up after that initial quest marker. Stick with it though - completing these is the only way to get your first boat!

Getting Settled #1

Pierre is the tutorial NPC, and you'll find him right next to the docks on the starter island (Moosewood). When you load up Fisch for the first time, you'll see a line connecting your avatar to Pierre. Speak to him.

Getting Settled #2

Pierre asks you to catch three fish so that you can get to grips with the game.

Equip your flimsy fishing rod, and use your left mouse button to launch it into the water. Long-press your mouse when you do this to get a better throw - you want the bar to be as close to the top as possible.

You'll then see the word "Shake" appear on your screen in a black circle. Click each circle until a "!" appears above your avatar's head. You're about to catch a fish!

A new bar will appear at the bottom of your screen. If the slider moves, click your mouse. You may need to click and hold when the fish is staying still, or click rapidly to catch up with the fish when they suddenly move. Practice; you'll get the hang of it.

Getting Settled #3 & Getting Settled 4

Go back to Pierre and talk to him to get the next tutorial quest. This one asks you to sell enough fish to make 500C$ and to buy your first fishing rod from the merchant (located up the ramp next to Pierre). The cheapest rod is 300C$.

Step 2: Buy your first boat

Once you're done, it’s time to visit the Shipwright, he's right next to the docks, as well. You won’t even be able to talk to him until you’ve completed the tutorial, so don’t bother rushing over there right away.

After unlocking the conversation, you’ll discover that baby’s first boat, aka the Rowboat, costs a cool 700C$. It’s not much, but when you’re just starting out, it definitely feels like you’ll be scrounging up every coin.

Step 3: Spawn your boat

Once you’ve handed over your hard-earned cash to the Shipwright and bought the Rowboat, scroll up the boat list to find your boat and hit that Spawn button. Your new boat should appear in the middle of the two piers, ready to set sail. Hop on and start exploring to catch all the fish in Fisch!

Oh, and just a heads up - you can’t swim your way to other islands. Trust me, I tried, and all I got was a quick trip to Drown City and a hole in my wallet (you lose money when you go unconscious).

Although the Rowboat is the cheapest option, it's absolutely awful. It's slow, the steering is ridiculous, and I regret spending 700C$ on it. The Surfboard and Titan aren't much better.

Ideally, try to save up for the Hovercraft or the Speedboat if you can. I can understand wanting to explore, though, so if you must buy one of the cheaper boats, grab the Quack Cruiser for 5,000C$. It's almost twice as fast as the Rowboat, and has better steering.

Ultimately, you want to get the Jetski, but at 50,000C$, you'll be fishing for days and days. At least the Hovercraft is only 7,000C$. It may not be as fast, but it's significantly more affordable.

Ways to make money in Fisch on Roblox

Angler NPC in Fisch on Roblox.

There are only two ways to make money in Fisch on Roblox: complete quests or sell the fish you catch.

Quests

To complete quests, talk to a quest giver. These NPCs are dotted around the map on various islands, including the starter island. On the starter island, you can find the Quest NPC opposite the merchant, hiding around the corner (see image above). The first time you speak to him, he'll ask you to catch him a Trumpetfish. Trumpetfish are uncommon fish that can be caught on clear days in autumn and summer. You need to use Shrimp as bait to catch them.

You can talk to any of the quest NPCs to get more quests and make money that way in Fisch.

Fishing

The other way to make money is to catch and sell the fish you find. This is a lengthy process, so you'll want to read about the different kinds of rods you can buy in Fisch and choose the best ones for your journey.

For example, if you want to catch a Mythic fish like the Colossal Squid, you'll need a Mythical Rod. These cost 110,000C$, and can only be purchased from the traveling merchant who appears during random events on each server.

A more sure-fire way to make money catching fish would be to buy an affordable but decent quality fishing rod - like the Lucky Rod (5,250C$ from the Merchant NPC on Moosewood) - and enjoy the 70% luck boost from the rod while you're catching fish.

This should help you catch fish more often, and catch less common fish. I would also recommend looking at the list of all fish in Fisch and finding out where each fish can be found. Remember to use the Totems on Sunstone Island, Terrapin Island, and Snowcap Island to change the weather and the time of day in your server. This will help you catch fish like the Legendary Rubber Ducky, which is only available during rainy conditions.
