How to get steel rods in Roblox Islands?

Islands offers players the ability to collect and farm numerous resources, which you can then use to craft various items, weapons, and accessories. One of the most popular and malleable resources in this experience is iron ore, which can be crafted raw, smelted, and even pressed into steel rods. For all of the steps and necessary requirements that you'll need to have to start making steel rods, continue reading our list below.

Harvesting iron ore

Before you can begin crafting steel rods, you'll need a hefty amount of the base resource—iron ore. Luckily this resource is relatively easy to find as its rocks are spread all over the main hub. To collect iron ore, simply strike any rocks that you see that resemble the picture below with your pickaxe.

Smelting for iron

Once you've harvested your iron ore, you can now use a heating device to smelt it into iron itself. These heating devices include a campfire, small furnace, desert furnace, or industrial smelter. One iron ore that you smelt in a heating device will be equal to one piece of iron.

Processing into ingots

Steel ingots are created by processing steel bars through a Steel Mill. You can craft Steel Mills with a tier three or tier four workbench for 100 iron and 50 gold. To process iron into steel through the Steel Mill, you'll need to give it either coal or petrified petroleum as a form of fuel. Inputting one iron bar into the mill will give one steel ingot in return.

Pressing into steel bars

After processing your iron into iron ingots, you can now press these ingots into multiple building materials, including steel bolts, rods, and plates using the Steel Press. A Steel Press will take 100 copper plates, 250 copper rods, 25 steel rods, a tier-three or four workbenches, and level 32 forging to craft. You will also need to obtain the required mold for each material before you can begin pressing them. Once you've got the steel rod mold, you can input 25 steel ingots for one steel rod.
