Ubisoft has many games in the kitchen, but one of them has been highly anticipated since its announcement in 2017 at E3 but has been delayed repeatedly. Unfortunately, Skull and Bones has sunk and is delayed once more.
Ubisoft released a statement saying, "We have decided to postpone its release to have more time to showcase a much more polished and balanced experience and to build awareness. Skull and Bones will now be released early 2023-24." In addition, the document mentions an upcoming beta phase, so fans may be able to at least test the waters.
Skull and Bones has been delayed six times now, each time having its date pushed further back. We hoped to see its release in November of 2022, but that was postponed to March 2023, and now Skull and Bones has an ambiguous 2023 to 2024 release date.
While Ubisoft's pirate title Skull and Bones has been delayed, 2023 still has a promising lineup of new pirate experiences. Additionally, Sea of Thieves is still going strong, so fans of the genre have something to play while they tend to their disappointment at this delay.
