The rarest type of slime you can find in Slime Rancher is called the gold slime. This is a slime that is hard to find and almost impossible to ranch, especially if you don't have the right tools. If you're looking to get a Gold Slime, then you should prepare to do some finagling.
Gold Alimes are tricky to find, they can spawn any of the regular biomes, including The Dry Reef, which is closest to your ranch. Since Gold Slimes can't be sucked up and transported like regular slimes, you need to drag them into your ranch using the power of your vacuum's current.

Gold Slimes will also run when they see you and will despawn shortly afterward, so it's important that you snatch them up quickly and begin moving them to your ranch. Your best chance for this is a Dry Reef spawn. Keep in mind that you can't use teleporters to move them.
You will want to slowly move them to your ranch, where you place them on a slime pedestal. It's important that you don't let them get sucked all the way up by accident, as your vacuum will spit them back out. This creates a chance for despawn, and if you're not careful, it will shoot them farther away from your ranch. Keep in mind that gold slimes only eat Gilded Ginger.
Keep in mind that they can't be kept in corrals or bred. Other slimes also can't be made into a Gold Slime fusion.
