Smalland Survive the Wilds Full Patch Notes – Patch #6

Smalland is getting big changes.

Smalland: Survive the Wilds is a true survival game. It incorporates many elements in the genre, including an early access launch. With early access, players will likely encounter bugs, not the insect kind, and issues that will be addressed in updates. These updates typically have patch notes that detail what is changed, fixed, removed, and added in Smalland: Survive the Wilds.

Patch Notes #6 - June 29, 2023

Signs!
Signs are unlocked from the get-go and cost 2 wood. They can be placed on anything, including chests and walls, There is a character limit of ten characters.

A change to equipment handling
Equipment now remains in your inventory and is also reflected on your character UI, this comes with 8 additional inventory slots, we have done this to future-proof an upcoming feature.

Armor is now craftable by the player at work benches
We hear you on this piece of feedback and have changed this! (Though, one set that is unlocked by quests remains at the NPC)

Tweaks to combat animations
We've tightened up the combat animations a smidge. Allowing for movement earlier as the animations end.

Miscellaneous optimization and art improvements
Fix for the weird storage issue where players would pause by a chest and their items would go missing from their inventory into their chest. Maybe a mimic that pickpockets you would be great for DnD campaign but for now it's a bug we've fixed.

New workbench tab
Workbenches such as the stonecutter can now be sorted by tab.

Preliminary Patch Notes #5 - June 12, 2023

  • Multiple tamed creatures
  • You will be able to tame more than one creature at a time. There is no limit to this, you can have 50 ladybugs or one of each creature, or 50 of each creature!
  • You can only have one creature active at a time, meaning that the other creatures you have will remain tamed but will be inactive.
  • We have big plans for creature taming and this is only the first step!
  • Build space visualization for the Great Tree.
  • There will be a transparent wall whilst having a build hammer equipped on your Great Tree, so you can see the border limit of where your constructions will be saved.
