Solo Leveling: ARISE features a stat-based upgrade system unique to the main character, Sung Jinwoo. Like the manhwa, Jinwoo gets five stat points for every level up, which you're free to allocate toward any of your preferred stats.
A controllable stat allocation system gives you the freedom to play around with fun builds, but this guide will show you the best way to allocate Jinwoo's stats to get the most out of his damage potential.
Best Jinwoo stats to assign points to in Solo Leveling Arise
Stat allocation is a mechanic unique to Sung Jinwoo, so you won't have to worry about it for any other character in the game. You're given five stat points every time you level up, and they can be distributed across the following stats:
Stat | Description |
---|---|
Strength | Increases flat Attack. |
Vitality | Increases HP and Defense. |
Agility | Increases Critical Hit Rate and Critical Hit Damage. |
Intelligence | Increases MP and Cooldown Reduction. |
Perception | Increases Precision, which increases the minimum damage dealt against enemies. |
Jinwoo's stats can be reset for Gold so you can change them at any point in the game. Your priorities will greatly change depending on his weapons and Artifacts, which will determine the trajectory of your stat allocation.
Early Game Stat Distribution Priority
- Perception (at least 80% Precision)
- Strength
In the early game, you won't have powerful weapons and Artifacts to offset Jinwoo's stats, so it's best to only aim for a decent amount of Precision and then dump the rest of the stats into Strength. I didn't find it helpful to aim for Agility as it didn't make a huge difference early into the game, where your primary goal is to speed through the Main Story to unlock as much content as possible.
Late Game Stat Distribution Priority
- Perception (only up to 99% Precision)
- Agility (only up to 50% Critical Hit Rate)
- Strength
- Intelligence
As you progress and collect weapons and Artifacts, your goal should be to cap Precision and Critical Hit Rate before dumping most of Jinwoo's stats to Strength. This is because Attack is very easy to get from weapons and Artifacts, so the Strength stat won't make a noticeable difference in your overall numbers. Once you're comfortable with Jinwoo's damage output, you can start adding a little bit of Intelligence primarily for Cooldown Reduction.
You can click on the magnifying glass to the right of Jinwoo's name to get an overview of his stat details, which breaks down the percentage values for Precision and Critical Hit Rate. Make sure to base your Perception and Agility inputs based on the percentages on this screen!
How Precision works in Solo Leveling ARISE
Precision increases whenever you raise Jinwoo's Perception stat. On paper, it increases the minimum damage dealt against enemies, so it allows Jinwoo to deal damage closer to the higher end of his minimum damage range. For example, if Jinwoo's minimum damage range is between 1,000 and 2,000, a higher Precision will allow him to deal closer to 2,000 with every hit. However, it doesn't affect his maximum damage, which is affected by how much he can land Critical Hits, hence why the Agility stat is also so important.
How to allocate Jinwoo's stats in Solo Leveling ARISE
In the early game, add your stats immediately to get a quick boost in power. Remember that you can reset your stats at any time for Gold. Once you start maxing out your weapons and roll for Artifacts with good substats, equip all of your gear before resetting Jinwoo's stats, then allocate based on what he's lacking from his gear. Doing so will prevent you from going beyond the maximum possible values for certain stats (i.e. 99% Perception, 50% Critical Hit Rate), which will be wasteful.
Stats will also start losing their value as you continue to level up and increase Jinwoo's multipliers, so you'll have to keep optimizing them alongside your gear over time. The most important point is to balance stats after gear, as weapons and Artifacts are based on RNG, while Jinwoo's stat allocation is completely within your control.
