In Starfield, law enforcement groups will place bounties on your character when you are caught stealing, fighting, or inciting violence. You can clear the bounty by paying upfront, or by visiting a Self-Service Bounty Clearing kiosk. However, these kiosks are usually located at significant settlements governed by law enforcement. Luckily, you can build Self-Service Bounty Clearance kiosks at your outposts.
How to make Self-Service Bounty Clearance at Outposts in Starfield
To build a Self-Service Bounty Clearance kiosk at one of your outposts, open the build mode menu. You can do this by interacting with the Outpost Terminal, or by opening your scanner and pressing R (on the keyboard) to enter the build menu. Scroll to the Miscellaneous section in build mode, and select the Self-Service Bounty Clearance kiosk to build it. Here are the resources you'll need to build
- Aluminum: Four Units
- Beryllium: Two Units
- Zero Wire: Two Units
Remember, unlocking and ranking up the Outpost Engineering skill allows you to build modules with 50 percent fewer resources. Place the kiosk at any preferable location in your outpost, and interact with it to clear bounties. You can clear any active bounties at this kiosk by paying the required credits.
One of the tricks I used involved building an outpost on a planet/moon outside the reach of the Freestar Collective and United Colonies. For instance, I built outposts in star systems like Kang, Foucault, Charybdis, Alchiba, and Decaran to clear bounties while remaining far away from law enforcement. It is much easier to visit your outpost to clear a bounty than to land at a settled system where you'll be scanned for contraband or dragged to prison.
